Pauline Kalungi, Age 10

Birth date: June 22, 2003,

Pauline is an orphan, her mother fell sick and died when she was 6 months old and after five months the father also died. She was left in the hands of an old grandmother but unfortunately, the grandmother fell sick for some months and she passed away in October 2004. Her parents were known as Mr. and Mrs. Alex Mugisha. Pauline was sent to her maternal Aunt called Margaret Tingira in Jinja, who was also poor with a very small house and 4 children to care for. The Aunt, Margaret Tingira approached Pastor Isaac and asked Canaan to accept this orphan at Canaan Children’s Home. Isaac could not refuse to help this child so desperately in need.

So in December 2004, pastor Isaac agreed and accepted the little girl to Canaan on January 13th, 2005, Pauline was brought to Canaan by her Aunt Margaret.

Pauline has one sister called Christine Asaba and a brother called John Kyaligonza. Both are in the Village with other relatives. Pauline’s parent’s left 3 children as orphans and Pauline is the youngest. She speaks Lutooro, Luganda and English.

Pauline wants to be a bank manager when she grows up. Her favorite subject in school is math and her favorite color is pink. She likes to skip ropes and to dance.
